summer of change

[photo from Cuba Gallery

Summer for me has always meant change. As I look back through the years pivotal changes have been made in the summer months. A week ago I was finishing out my first year in the 40s and it couldn't have been a better year! Once again I find myself in the month of July making more changes. Committing to growing my photography business and I have accepted a 'grown up' job at a very 'grown up' company. Change is good.

Working for a grown up company also means that I won't be sharing too much about the company on my personal blog. It's really important for me to keep things separate and I know many of you, my long time readers will understand. New rules to play by and I am okay with that.

So much is going on and will have so much to share in the coming weeks...one item on the to do list: getting ready to re-do the office - I know it seems like I just did it. But I am ready for a change. :)

Welcoming baby Cole

I have a good reason to be MIA from blog land lately!

[cole ryden gurney]

I have had my niece here for 3.5 days and can't believe how worn out I am! Here were my observations:
  1. Definitely need to add 30 to 45 minutes onto each appt so you are on time
  2. Car seat - while I know this is a safety device...it is the bane of my existence!
  3. My niece eats healthier than I do
  4. You need your sleep to keep up with a four year old
  5. Bath time can be LONG and I was told that I didn't have any fun toys in the tub
  6. Four year old children keep it real
  7. She has a very high pitched laughing scream that can make you want to pass out
  8. Loves make up
  9. Focusing can be tough for a four year old
  10. They have to go potty at the worst times

To all my US friends - have a wonderful holiday weekend! To all others - enjoy it! Be sure to check back on Sunday for our annual 4th of July post...
